Critical Consciousness

This tool has been created to help you listen, reflect and act on our history. It was inspired by the work of Andi Crawford and Fiona Langridge's paper titled Pākehā/Palangi positionality: disentangling power and paralysis and The Teaching Council's Literature scan – Give Nothing to Racism in Education.
 
It also draws on references to the Big Ideas from the Aotearoa, New Zealand Histories.
 
It can be used to help you reflect on an individual basis, or come together as a staff to explore and share your understandings.
 
You could also use it to form a good discussion with older students.
